Technical sheet — Post-treatment monitoring

After treatment: 24 months of surveillance to validate eradication

Post-treatment surveillance programme lasting 12-24 months: pheromone traps, periodic inspections, frass monitoring. It is the only way to objectively demonstrate that infestation has been eradicated.

Regulatory references: EN 16636:2015 (servizi professionali pest control)
● In the field

"The real success of woodworm treatment is measured in the following 24 months: no new holes, no fresh frass, no residual activity."

What it is

Integrated monitoring tools package placed at strategic points after a curative treatment:

• Species-specific pheromone traps for Anobium, Hylotrupes, Lyctus, Xestobium — attract adult males that may emerge.
• White paper sheets placed under beams and furniture — capture any new frass.
• Existing hole marking with coloured paint — any new holes immediately visible.
• Scheduled inspections quarterly for the first 12 months, biannual for the following 12 months.
• Photo report delivered after every inspection.

References

• EN 16636:2015 – professional pest control services: explicitly includes post-intervention monitoring phase.
• CEPA guidelines (Confederation of European Pest Management Associations).
• ISO 9001:2015 standard for service process quality.

Monitoring is a mandatory precondition for the 5-year warranty we apply to all curative treatments.

Who needs it

All clients who had a curative treatment: without monitoring there's no proof of success.
Insurance companies asking for eradication proof to close claims or issue policies on historic properties.
Real-estate transactions: an active surveillance certificate increases value and trust.
Hospitality: documentary traceability required by chain audits.

Our approach

Start: immediately after curative treatment. Pheromone trap placement per diagnosed species.
Inspection 1 (3 months): trap check, frass collection, visual inspection. Report.
Inspection 2 (6 months): same + pheromone lure replacement.
Inspection 3 (12 months): same + mid-term report.
Inspections 4-5 (18 and 24 months): final eradication confirmation.

Final output: Eradication Certificate signed by our responsible technician, valid for insurance, expert reports, notarial deeds.

In case of new activity: free return on-site and rescue treatment at our expense (warranty clause).
