Certified protocols for healthcare, schools and industry

Sanitation is not just cleaning: it's a controlled process that reduces microbial load to safety levels. Hospitals, nursing homes, schools, gyms, transport, production plants.

Species treated: Reg. UE 528/2012 · D.Lgs. 81/08 · UNI EN 14885 · PMC Min. Salute

"Sanitation of operating theatres, nursing homes, schools and public transport with validated protocols and verification swabs."

Biology & life cycle

Targets: bacteria (S. aureus incl. MRSA, C. difficile, P. aeruginosa, A. baumannii, carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella), viruses (Norovirus, Influenza, SARS-CoV-2, Adenovirus, Rotavirus), fungi (Candida auris, Aspergillus), spores.

Surface survival:
• Norovirus: 1–2 weeks on porous surfaces.
• Influenza: 24–48 h.
• SARS-CoV-2: 2–3 days.
• C. difficile spores: months.
• MRSA: weeks.

Efficacy measured in log reduction units. EN 14885: ≥ 4 log for high-level disinfectants.

Where they develop

Critical points: handles, switches, phones, keyboards, lifts, restrooms, waiting seats, bed rails, checkout counters, transport (handrails, validators), classrooms.

Food: work surfaces, cutting boards, slicers, cold rooms, drains, fridge gaskets.

Healthcare: operating theatres, ICUs, delivery rooms, oncology, neonatology, hospital laundries, sterilization rooms.

Diseases & risks

Healthcare-associated infections (HAI): in Italy 6–8% of inpatients contract a hospital infection. 530,000–600,000 cases/year with 49,000 attributable deaths. Cost: €1.2 billion/year.

Most frequent: hospital pneumonia, surgical site infections, bloodstream infections, catheter UTIs, C. difficile (rising post-Covid).

Antibiotic resistance: Italy among most affected EU countries.

Schools: viral gastroenteritis outbreaks shut classes for 1–2 weeks.

Cases in Italy

Italy — ISS/AIFA data:
• HAI: 530,000–600,000/year, 49,000 deaths.
• Norovirus: 2023–2024 season with documented outbreaks in 200+ school canteens.
• Candida auris: hospital clusters since 2019.
• C. difficile: +30% post-pandemic.
• Post-Covid awareness of sanitation grew across all sectors.

How to recognise the infestation

Increased sick leave; persistent odours in damp areas; visible biofilm; recurring condensation; mould in corners; surface swabs out of company limits.

Our approach

Our 4-phase protocol:
• Preventive cleaning.
• Active disinfection with EU 528/2012 biocides.
• ULV active fogging or ionised peroxide for large areas.
• Instrumental verification: surface swabs, ATP-metry. Photographic reporting + values.

Certifications: ISS, AIOP, ANMDO compliant protocols.

Seasonality

Routine monthly/weekly for sensitive environments; extraordinary in case of outbreak; post-construction before opening; seasonal reinforced in autumn-winter.
